SOS Events Prayer Letter

January/February 2017

Friends and Family:  

BEGINNING.  Just let that word wash over you.  We are going into our third month of a new year.  A new year with days that will be full and fresh with Christ's mercies, no matter our circumstances.  A new year with moments and opportunities that we won't get again to fulfill our mission to share with others that they, too, can have a new beginning, a new life available through receiving Christ as their Lord & Savior.  Let's rejoice in the great honor God has given us to in 2017 and pray for boldness to carry out that mission.  We thank Him for the many blessings He continues to pours out on our personal family, church family and this ministry.  

Thank you so much for your support, encouragement and prayers. We absolutely could not do it without you (and wouldn't want to)!  

A look at January & February...

February 11:  SOS Leaders met for their annual planning meeting at Chappy's Deli and had a great morning of fellowship where we shared our hearts and vision for the ministry.  As always, prayer remains vital to the ministry as the Holy Spirit leads us to do God's will in sharing about the Good News of Jesus Christ.

February 19:  Volunteer Training at Country Line Baptist Church, Lineville, AL.  What a great training full of enthusiastic church members and leaders absolutely on fire for sharing Jesus using the SOS method.  We expect to see great things from this group of Christ followers.

February 25:  Volunteer Training at Boone's Chapel Baptist Church, Prattville, AL.  Another great training where church members and leaders were excited about using SOS method to share the Good News of Jesus Christ.  Can't wait to see what God through this group, too!

Our weekly "2:07 Revival Prayer Group" is going strong. Join us in Spirit in prayer for revival each day at 2:07 (set a reminder on your phone!) and join us each Wednesday night in person in Room 207 from 6-7pm to pray 2 Chronicles 07:14 and share your heart and vision for reaching the lost as we prepare for upcoming SOS events.

March 11:  ReImagine/HearChrist Community Event in Milton, Florida
April 1:  Eastmont's Spring Mission Yard Sale (6am-12noon)

May 5-7:  NASCAR spring races at Talladega

August 19:  MidYear Leaders Planning Fellowship Breakfast
October  7:  Eastmont's Fall Mission Yard Sale (6am-12noon)
October 13-15:  NASCAR fall races at Talladega
October 28:  Eastmont's Trunk or Treat

October 27-November 5:  The Alabama National Fair

December 2:   Eastmont's Children's Christmas Festival, 9am-12 noon

Foster Fest in Dothan the 3rd Friday of each month, May-October

Unconfirmed events:  Eastmont's Car Show (May/Oct?); Eastmont's Country Country Concert (July/Sept?); Mission Trip to Amazonias (Summer/Winter?)

SOS Events Prayer Letter
December, 2016






Friends and Family:  

MERRY CHRISTMAS and praise God that at this time of the year - when we celebrate our Christ Emmanuel - God with us - that we can rejoice in the 725 decisions for Christ during 2016, mainly through events where Alabama SOS' onsite partnership with Eastmont Baptist Church in Montgomery, Alabama but also at offsite events throughout the state.  Since its start at Eastmont in 2013, Alabama SOS has seen over 2,000 decisions for Christ and many more who have been touched by the Holy Spirit through this local SOS ministry all for God's glory.  We thank Him for the many blessings He continues to pours out on our personal family, church family and this ministry.  We absolutely could not do it without you (and wouldn't want to)!  

Please continue to pray for the Mills family as we go through a difficult season.  Your prayers are vital in helping us fight the attacks of the evil one as he seeks to do what he does best:  "steal, kill and destroy."   There is a spiritual battle being waged and, though sometimes we find ourselves walking a path we do not want to walk, we also find that God is walking that path with us...providing for us, giving us peace, strength, wisdom and spiritual discernment and his many promises for healing.

The months of September, October, November & December...

September:  The SOS team at Eastmont's Country Country Concert on Sept 11 saw 3 salvations (PTL!) and at Eastmont's Hispanic Anniversary Celebration there were many assured of their salvation and many partnerships made between ministries.

October:  Our busiest month of the year!!  The SOS team saw 502 decisions for Christ through EBC's Yard Sale, NASCAR races at Talladega, EBC's Trunk or Treat and through the Alabama National Fair.  

November:  Many lives were touched and changed as a result of the SOS team members participation in a swap meet and car show in Lineville, Alabama and through EBC's international mission trip to Guatemaula.

December:  The SOS team saw 23 decisions for Christ at EBC's Children's Christmas Festival.
